Welcome to the White Tiger Tae Kwon Do Club!!
We are the New Jersey branch of the World Martial Arts Association
founded by our Headmaster Dr. Michael T. Dealy 10th Degree
Black Belt.
My name is John Diahy (5th Dan) and I started the White
Tiger Club with my brother Steven (4th Dan) in April of 2002. We are
both students of Dr. Dealy and practice with him in Brooklyn as often as
possible. I have been a member of the WMAA for more than 21 years and
began teaching Tae Kwon Do in 1991 under the guidance of Headmaster Mike
Dealy.
Tae Kwon Do is the Korean martial art of self-defense. It literally
means "the way of the hands and feet" therefore there are no weapons
used. We have six major components to our 1hour workout: a short run,
basic exercises, forms, free style sparring, three step sparring and
warm downs. During our free style sparring, there is no offensive
contact to ensure safety and to teach non-violence. The objective is to
have full control of ones body and emotions at all times so that all
offensive attacks can be delivered with full power and speed and
eventually come within one inch of the intended target.
We are dedicated to teaching the traditional style of Tae Kwon Do to
individuals and families of all ages in a friendly, respectful
atmosphere. Our training is designed to develop the 5 basic components
required of an accomplished martial artist: Speed, Power, Focus, Balance
and Control. Our program will help develop or improve coordination,
help adjust weight, promote fitness and to improve self-confidence and
self-control.
Tae Kwon Do / Chung Do Kwan dates back more than 2000 years and was
first used by the Korean Hwa Rang Do soldiers. It was first introduced
to the United States in the early 1960's by Grand Master Duk Sung Son.
Come join us in this fascinating experience and journey!!!
